FAQ

Architectural stills — your questions answered

What is architectural CGI and how does it differ from photography?

Architectural CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) is photorealistic imagery of buildings and spaces that are created digitally — either before construction or to supplement photography of completed projects. Unlike photography, CGI gives you full control over lighting, season, weather, materials, and camera angle, and it can be produced at any stage of a project.

How long does an architectural still take to produce?

A single hero render typically takes between two and four weeks from brief to delivery, depending on the complexity of the scene and the revision process. Campaign suites of multiple views are usually delivered over a four-to-eight-week period. We provide a clear timeline as part of every proposal.

What do you need from us to start?

Ideally: architectural drawings (plans, sections, elevations), material specifications, and a clear brief outlining the camera angles and mood you're looking for. If you're at an early stage, we can work from concept drawings and help you develop the brief.

What file formats do you deliver?

We deliver high-resolution TIFFs or JPEGs at print resolution (typically 300dpi at A1 or larger), plus web-optimised versions. We can also deliver layered PSDs, PNG sequences, and EXR files for compositing if required.
